Yes, you're funny. Come and find out what you're funny about.

Have you always wanted to try stand-up comedy but don't know where to start?

It works as a stand-alone class, or as your introduction to the Complete Course.

If you go on to the Complete Course, this class is included in your tuition.

This is a fun, no-pressure overview of everything you need to know to get a mic in your face for the first time. In three hours you'll learn where jokes come from, how to find your own voice, and what actually happens on stage.

You'll also learn how to avoid the common mistakes new performers make.

What you’ll learn

  • Techniques for writing and generating ideas

  • Joke structure: set-up, punch, and why it works

  • Delivery and stage basics

  • How to find the topics you're actually funny about

  • The mistakes new comedians make, and how to skip them

What to expect

No experience, skills, or confidence required. You won't be forced to perform.

Speaking and sharing is completely voluntary but highly encouraged. Bring a pen and a notebook (you'll be writing), an open mind and a good attitude.

$20 suggested koha,
but pay what you can.

Bring cash on the day or pay in advance by bank transfer. If you're planning to join the Complete Course, this class is already included in your tuition, and any koha you've already paid comes off your tuition.
